WordPress Censored in Turkey??

In a flagrant act of “censorship,” Turkey has blocked WordPress.com. What you ask was the reason given for this overt act of censorship? A radical cult leader in Turkey, Adnan Oktar, has used antiquated Turkish laws with the aid of his lawyers to block Word press.com in Turkey. Who is Oktar?

He is a radical Islamic cult leader. His cult is a fascist organization. He and his cult say they are Sunni; but the cult does not live the Sunni doctrine. However, outwardly that is the image they present to Turkish people and internationally. The cult considers Adnan Oktar as the promised Mahdi (Muslim version of Messiah). His cult preys on the children of wealthy Turks. When people leave the cult, th cult uses money, political connections, and backward Turkish legal system to censor the former cult members who expose the secrets of the cult. He promotes false ideas about the theory of evolution and Darwin’s theories. Oktar is trying to re-establish the Caliphate.

The censorship came about after some people who broke away from the cult went to another fellow for help. Some of those who broke away used this other guy’s name in their web blog title. Oktar’s attorneys attempted to persuade WordPress to drop those blogs. Subsequently they went to court and had the block implemented.

Of course, there is much more to this whole story. I have tried to give a brief synopsis based on my understanding of the information presented in the WordPress.com blog post’s comments. Go read the post, “Why We’re Blocked in Turkey: Adnan Oktar”. Show WordPress.com your support in this matter.
