Urgent – We need your help – Please sign these Petitions also and Spread the word!

There are two new petitions being passed around. These come to us from Media Lies by way of A Soldiers Perspective.

The first petition is a response to the Re-Dress petition, presented to Congress by soldiers seeking to end the war now. The media has made a big thing out of their petition. They give the impression that all veterans, active duty, and reservists want the troops withdrawn as soon as possible. They do not speak for all military personnel. So that there will be no confusion for our elected officials Congress, here is what the petition, Appeal for Redress states:

“As a patriotic American proud to serve the nation in uniform and place my life on the line in defense of freedom, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to unconditionally support all American military forces and to cease denigrating us by comparing us with Nazis and followers of Pol Pot and calling us murderers. I further respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress not to abandon the Iraqi people as we so shamefully abandoned the South Vietnamese. The time for all Americans to pull together, take a stand for freedom and support us in the war on terror is long overdue.”

The second petition is called Petition to Restore Constitutional Integrity. Here is an excerpt from that petition:

“Furthermore, amid the abuse, neglect and ignorance of the Constitution that permeates American government today, even among those who would call themselves conservative, we call on congressional leaders and President Bush, in their respective branches, to hence forward respect our nation’s law by restricting the role of government to that provided in our Constitution, and to ensure appointments to the federal courts will do likewise. We, the people of these United States, rightfully petition our President, House of Representatives and Senate to restore Constitutional law, and entreat the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches to confine their actions accordingly.”

Please support these petitions. Make sure our elected officials clearly understand our position and not the words of  someone else is trying speak on our behalf who has never asked us what we really think or want!
