What’s New at the National Terror Alert Site?

There are several important stories at the National Terror Alert Site.

The National Terror Alert Site has a story about a proposed plan in the works by Israel to nuke Iran’s nuclear facilities. The article, Israel Plans Nuclear Strike On Iran,  provides a brief synopsis of a story published by the Times on Line. The Times article, Revealed: Israel plans nuclear strike on Iran, reports that the Israeli attack would open up a tunnel through which a nuclear warhead would be released 1/15th the size of the bombs we dropped on Japan. If Israel carries out this plan, their attack will be the first time since World War II a nuclear weapon has been used by one nation against another. Supposedly, the Israeli plan will have no collateral damage.

As much as I support the cause of the Israeli people, I find this a very dangerous move. The repercussions could have astronomical consequences. For over half a decade the world’s leaders and the United Nations have managed to avoid nuclear confrontation. If Israel thinks a nuclear attack on Iran will have the same results as the bombs dropped on Japan that ended WW II, they are sadly mistaken. I believe such an act could explode world wide into a rallying cry for the Muslims extremists. I believe it will also have the effect of  diminishing the support Israel now enjoys from many nations.

What amazes me is that there is not a major public out cry world wide. What amazes me even more is the complete lack of media coverage.

In a related issue, the site also has a story that makes the Israeli story even more ominous. The story, Report: Irans Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Dead, is in the process of being confirmed. Should the story be true, there will be a potential major crisis in Iran. Of the four men who stand the best chance of replacing the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, one is the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s spiritual leader.

If you think back on recent stories in the media, there are serious problems in Iran. Many of Iran’s young people have begun to speak out about the problems in Iran. The Iranian President,  Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has not followed through on his campaign promises. This has created unrest that is beginning to become a serious problem in Iran for President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will certrainly create a power struggle over his replacement. One has to wonder at the timing of the report of Israel’s plan to use nuclear weapons to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities?

Even though I personally feel Israel’s purported plans for a nuclear solution to Iran’s nuclear facilities is a very dangerous move, news of the death of Iran’s Supreme religious leader does create a situation of grave concern for the region.

Much as I am reluctant to admit it, there may even be some logic to Israels purported plans??

  1. You know, GUYK, after more thought on this matter, I have to totally agree with you. I have no doubt that the current president will do so!

You notice there has been “no” public out cry on this story and most of the MSM has simply avoided this story??

  2. Seems though that Israel may be between the proverbial rock and a hard place..if Iran does develop a nuke and delivery capability then Israel is in trouble. Iran can and no doubt in the mind of Israel either use the nuke or at least use it to force Israel to comply to the wishes of the Islamic world. It may be that Israel figures it has nothing to lose by a first strike and everything to lose if they do not strike first.

The Iranian government has been saying that they want to destroy Israel..if I was an Israeli I would take these words very seriously..
