9/11 Families for a Safe & Strong America
Remember the Memorial being built at ground Zero in New York to honor the memory of the victims of 9/11? The purpose of the Memorial was solely for that purpose, nothing more, nothing less. Well, apparently the people handling the project have come up with some ideas for a couple other added things that will deter from the original intent of the Memorial. The Lower Manhattan Development Center has added an International Cultural Center and appointed Tim Bernstein as the Chairman. Tim is chairman of International Freedom Center.
I can’t imagine anyone insensitive enough to allow this group to build their center when their goals are so extreme and against everything the Ground Zero Memorial represents. I am even more shocked the Times newspaper is supporting the plan and suggesting the 9/11 family members protesting the plan need to back off.
If anyone ought to back off, it’s the Times and Tim Bernstein. Though Tim says there will be nothing in the Center offensive to the memory of 9/11, the few pictures I have seen tell another story. I didn’t lose anyone in the 9/11 attack. But even I see the paradox of the project goals.
This isn’t right. It isn’t a memorial to 9/11. It’s a platform to spew out more “anti” rhetoric. I find the whole idea repulsive! The only international aspect of the project ought to be the honoring of the memory of those non American citizens who were killed.
Go over to the site at the link above and read a detailed description of the mockery Tim Bernstein wants to build. I am sure once you read this you will want too sign the petition to make the Ground Zero Memorial a fitting proper memorial to all who lost their lives on 9/11. Don’t let anyone make a mockery of the memory of those innocents who died on 9/11.
Won’t you please help the 9/11 family members in their fight to have the Lower Manhattan Development Center build a more suitable Ground Zero memorial! And while you’re at it, consider sending an email to the Times expressing your views on the matter. The Times needs to be held accountable for their position.
