More Military stories

While I was in SanDiego there was always something going on with the students. I don’t think I mentioned it before, but the men and the women were in the same classes. It was a lot of fun. The guys used to have their stories too. So as you can imagine. we did a lot of tale swapping. [no pun intended-lol]One day the guys were talking and laughing about something that happened in their barracks. I’m sure they knew we would feel compelled to ask what happened. So they told us.

There was a guy in one of the units that always got drunk and then came back to the barracks and woke everyone else up as he stumbled back to his rack for the night. Apparently this went on for a long time. It didn’t matter if it was a school night or not, he still did the same thing. The guys in his squadbay got tired of it all. So one payday they waited for him to go out and for the duty officer to make his last tour. Then they took all the trash cans and put them across the walkway, blolcking the aisle. Since it was a Friday night, they knew he would be drunker than the rest of the week. Well, the dummy came in stomping drunk and waked into the trash cans making all kinds of racket. His squadbay took him back to his wrack, and helped him undress down to his scivvies. Then they put him to bed. After he fell asleep, they took string and wrapped it compeletely around hin so when he woke up he couldn’t get up. Then they took his rack outside and set it on the General’s parade deck. The mext morning he was startled awake by the sound of marching feet. As he opened his eyes he saw a DI leaning over him. “What are you doing on my parade deck blocking my recuits?” the DI asked. Then he proceeded to let him have the riot act. Even though the DI pretty much knew who put him there he didn’t know why. But he had a pretty good idea. When the man couldn’t give him a satisfactory answer, the DI ordered him to get up and take his rack back to the barracks. Being in his scivvies made the experience more emarassing. He had to return to the barracks with his rack. Then the DI told him to make sure he never let it happen again. After that night he began to use more consideration in the squadby.

  1. Thank you Mikey. Honestly, I’m not that good. But, I have found it easier to write about things that interest me or make me angry.
